Coming straight from the Carol City rap collective RXIDVR KLVN, is the 17 year old fast spitter Denzel “Aquarius Killa” Curry (Or Raven Miyagi).
Curry, his crew, and their cult following have been storming the rap game with their 90′s culture style, screwed up music and Three 6 Mafia influences. We hit up Curry to chop it up with him about RXIDVR KLVN, upcoming projects and more.
Spock: So I know most interviewers ask this every time, but for those who don’t know you and who you are, can you give a little background on who you are and what your music sounds like to you?
Denzel Curry: I’m Denzel Curry A.K.A Aquarius Killa or Raven Miyagi to Everyone I sound like some classic three six mafia especially lord infamous my favorite rapper out the southern group. Sometimes Brotha Lynch Hung or X-Raided.
Spock: How did you meet SpaceGhostPurrp?
Denzel Curry: Mike Dece showed me his song a while back before Raider Klan was formed like how it is now, When Purrp said “Rest in peace Jitt” at the end of his song Suck a nigga Dick for 2011 I knew he had to be from Carol City … Turns out he was and I sent him a Friend Request on Facebook … I drew purrp some artwork and he responded to it and then Mike Dece gave me his number back when Purrp was in NY with ASAP Rocky … Purrp picked up and I asked “could I be in Raider Klan” and he said “Yeah ..” I was unsure but It worked out. People were spamming purrp’s fb page including me that’s when the official video for Black Blaze was released, out of all the people on the page my video was with a response because he recognized the neighborhood and he like the song at the same time. Months later I told him to like my status on Facebook if you want the exclusive on King Remembered underground tape 1991 – 1995 # RVIDXR KLVN he was proud of me when he heard it and we was talking that’s when he said he was coming back to Miami to eventually meet up with me, Young Renegade, Yung Simmie, Mike Dece, Raider Rvidxr Rico etc. we meet at the Park by Renegades where Jitt got killed at and we did a video with ItsNique and some freestyle videos with me, him, and my brother Soulja Mook then later on with to the Zu Mansion to get together before the show on January 15 and chill with the Metro Zu clique Freebase Made me a beat for my first tape which is called Run Run lil Jitt and me & Ruben Slikk did Demonz on my mind … when I went to his house we made a plan for all us to meet RVIDXR KLVN / C.S.P.G. a week later we all met and we all had fun that’s when the music and pictures and shows was heavy and we still chill till this day we a big family.
Spock: How long have you been friends with him and the other guys from Raider Klan?
Denzel Curry: Mike Dece and Yung Simmie for like two or three years, Purrp for almost a year same with Renegade and everyone else in the Klan now I treat like Family.
Spock: You guys are very much influenced by the 90s, what was your favorite Cartoon growing up in the 90s?
Denzel Curry: Ed, Edd n Eddy and Dragon Ball Z
Spock: I noticed the Gangrel sample in “Headcrack”, were you a fan of wrestling growing up?
Denzel Curry: Yes I was until I grew and I found out it was all fake the beef and everything and SGP probably was a fan himself because he sampled it and made the beat.
Spock: You seem to be also very much influenced by 90s Memphis and 90s G-Funk, can you give us your favorite 90s rapper from the West and your favorite from Memphis?
Denzel Curry: Brotha Lynch Hung and Lord Infamous
Spock: I was listening to BLVCKLVND GODDESS off of your upcoming tape Strictly 4 my R.V.I.D.X.R.Z, and the production on that song is very different from the stuff you normally rap on, what was your motivation for that? And can we expect your next project to sound like that?
Denzel Curry: This time I’m covering all topics this time from love to murder from right to wrong from Justice to Retribution and expect some dope collabs for this one it will be even better than the first two tapes I made it clear that this is not a Mixtape this is an album. And the next project expect the unexpected.
Spock: Can we expect another Metro Zu collab on this tape?
Denzel Curry: Is that even a question? Of course if they were on the first two tapes
Spock: When can we expect the tape to drop?
Denzel Curry: Whenever I feel like it… I mean is fuck due dates.

Denzel Curry: The Pool and the Goddesses
Spock: What’s your favorite movie to watch while blazed?
Denzel Curry: I Like Star Wars but I don’t smoke I’m a straight-edge kind of guy
Spock: Are there any newer artists out right now that you are feeling and would like to work with?
Denzel Curry: Danny Brown followed me on twitter and I would really like to work with him and Kendrick Lamar and Waka Flocka flame and OFWGKTA.
