Lunice and Hudson Mohawke recently made their live debut as TNGHT at this year’s SXSW, and their production was heavy enough to literally shatter glass. The pair originally met in 2008 in Montreal, and after a few years of solo success they got together in London to collaborate last year. The EP they created during that short stay in the UK contains some of the most aggressive and earth-shaking sounds in hip-hop.
This production duo has already caught the attention of Diplo(who’s currently working with Lunice on a project), XV(produced the song “Mary Kate and Ashley” off his latest mixtape Popular Culture), and Kanye West(worked on his hit single “Mercy”, the end theme song for his film Cruel Summer, and a track for his fashion show). You can expect to hear a lot more from TNGHT in the future. Check out their EP sampler below, the full project is due out July 23rd/24th on Warp x LuckyMe.
