Peter Rosenberg’s “A Night of Real Hip-Hop” Recap (Photos, Videos, & More)

To celebrate his birthday, Peter Rosenberg put together “A Night of Real Hip-Hop”. Taking place at Best Buy Theater, Rosenberg managed to get a handful of great acts together to perform in honor of his birthday.

To start things off, Nitty Scott took the stage. She performed a few songs, including a remix of ScHoolboy Q‘s “Hands on the Wheel”. With great stage presence, Nitty Scott got the crowd going until Rosenberg (who kept things going on schedule all night) told her that her time was up and that the next act had to come on.

Next up was Smoke DZA who performed a few songs, including some off of his latest album Rugby Thompson.

After DZA, Rosenberg came on stage to announce that Action Bronson was there tonight but could not perform due to health reasons. Although this may have disappointed some people, he still made someone’s night when he tossed a bag of weed to some lucky member of the crowd.

Behind Bronson, you can see a live band setting up for Asher Roth who came up next. Asher put on one hell of a show, inviting four lucky fans up onstage and ending the show barefoot. The only person who didn’t seem to have a good time was the bodyguard in front, who you can see in the video looks pretty pissed off. Asher telling everyone to boo him did not help lift his mood much either.

After Asher Roth, Raekwon finally hit the stage and the crowd went wild. Raekwon performed Wu-Tang‘s biggest single “C.R.E.A.M.”, Ol’ Dirty Bastard‘s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”, and more which you can check out in the video below.

Once Raekwon left the stage it was finally time for EarlWolf and the rest of Odd Future to hit the stage. You can check out all of that footage here.

Peter Rosenberg’s concert definitely lived up to expectations. For all those who were fortunate enough to catch it will probably remember this night for quite some time. For those who missed it, you all better hope something like this comes along again, and make sure to not to miss it next time!
