Big Sean Reveals More Details About His Upcoming Mixtape

Yesterday Big Sean announced that he would be releasing his new mixtape Detroit on September 5th. He sat down with HipHopWired to discuss just why he is putting out a mixtape:

“A lot of people don’t want me to do it because they are saying ‘man, the album is what it is and I don’t know why you want to drop a mixtape, but I ain’t doing it to let people know where I’m artistically at. I’m doing an album to change the world. I’m doing a mixtape because that’s how I came up. That’s where a lot of my core fan base is, my core believers, and people who believe in me.”

He also states that he hasn’t put it out just yet because he doesn’t want to put anything on the mixtape that he could’ve put on the album. Big Sean has also revealed there will be some “good ass features” such as Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, J. Cole, and Chris Brown. And don’t worry… none of this work on the mixtape or the album will slow down the process (or push the release date back once again) of the highly anticipated G.O.O.D. Music album, Cruel Summer.
