My reason for Beat Breaks is to go behind the lyrics and bring some cool beatmakers/ producers to the forefront.
For the second installment, I chose artist & producer Simon SMTHNG from Charlotte, NC. Inspired by the likes of Nujabes, Jamiroquai, James Brown and Q-TIp, it’s hard to place Simon in a genre, but he feels those are stupid anyways. Keep an ear out for some new material later this month.
