Today I start a new thing.. Pay Homage Mondays. PHM is pretty much what it sounds like, every Monday I will be making a post paying homage to the hip hop artist that paved the way. Today’s post will consist of The Dynospectrum. Let me get this out the way but I believe this is easily one of the greatest albums ever put together in the history of hip-hop. The Dynospectrum was a hip hop group that consisted of some heavy hitters, such as Musab, Slug from atmosphere, Swift of Phull Surkle, & I Self Divine. In the words of Slug,
“When we made the Dynospectrum, I was so high, I really thought we were like a legion of superheroes.”
Not only does this album have some of hip hops greatest Mcs but this amazing album was produced in it’s entirety by the one and only Ant, the second half of atmosphere. Sadly this album was the only album the group dropped together, The project was fully recorded in a basement which explains the raw and rugged sound it brings to the table. Not only were the vocals raw and rugged but the production as well. The album features some of Ants pre historic works in which he created some raw and gritty instrumentals that flowed magically together and created a minor sense of orgasm in our ears, A true hip-hop feel. These 4 Mcs really worked well together delivering some of Hip-Hops greatest lyrics and flows. The content of their verses was truly amazing, It indulges you and leaves you in awe. It’s truly a shame and sad how this group has not made another album together, but at least this album will live on forever. I can talk about The Dynospectrum for days but I’ll stop here, I’ll end this post by giving this album an easy 10 out of 10. Although I don’t condone to doing drugs, I would suggest that you go to a gas station cop a pack of dutches, then hit up your local weed man and roll one and just bump this classic album.
